Located in the village of Uzès, on 1100 m2 of sloping land is a , wooden house of 145 m2, and a swimming pool.
Martine, was willing to start a new house projetc. She desired to have an environnment respectfull and bioclimatic house. Her land offered wondefull views and what could be better then to live « on the canopy « ?
Martine, asked Benoit Gillet, an architect specialist in bioclimatic and wood constructions to design her dream housen with endless openings to enjoy the views in particular the olive trees.
Particular care has been taken to optimize the sensation of « inside and outside ».
The fondamental idea is inspired by the mediterranean house, protected from « the cold north wind (Mistral) and opened to the sun ont he south.
The heating is provided by a high-efficiency pellet stove … hot sanitary water is produced by a solar roof pannels.
The winter garden (35m2), covered, in winter by polycarbonate plates structure and in summer, with shade sails.
The « green » roof (sedum) reduces the visual impact on the landscape and contributes to the high bioclimatic performances.
Local shops are 5 mns drive away. This house is at 35mns from Uzès and Nîmes by car.
Our favourite is the privileged environment and a “magical” circular view overlooking the « the cevennes » !
Mas in the countryside with a loft and a traditional house surrounding the Camargue nature near Arles
Henri immediately spotted on the evolutionary potential of the “Mas Camarguais”. Stéphanie was a bit difficult to convince, “what hard work to do” ! : The annex of the Mas, was a little abandoned. The high ceilings and rough roof, would provide an incredible playground for a young architect.
The Mas, is a true parallelepiped and has two antinomic parts : a space renovated in a traditional manner, and in its extension transformed in a contemporary loft with generous volumes, corresponding to the old annexes. The exterior architecture of the property has been perfectly preserved and renovated respecting traditional constructions.
The farmhouse looks like the Camargue nature, all in contrast. This restoration combines the architectural biases between tradition and modernity, with the use of innovative materials, such as corten for stairs, polished concrete for the floor, valchromat for the kitchen, as well as materials in the respect constructions of camarguais mas.
This mas, offers 340m2 of living space, is located in a village near Arles, on a plot of 1.6 hectares, surrounded by nature Camargue.
The entrance of the house overlooks the Loft of 130m2, bathed in light by metal canopies all width facing south. It is organized in different living spaces. It includes a lounge area, a fireplace in the DRC, a dining area, a kitchen located half a level above. An additional level above, a largely bedroom, with its independent bathroom and a spacious other bedroom in continuity which can be used as a dressing room.
The other part of approximately 210m2, in the extension of the loft, is more traditional looking and is composed of a living room and its chimney, and an office in RDC and upstairs, 2 other rooms with each its bathroom.
Arles :10mn, Aix en Provence :50mn, Nîmes :35 mn, Saint Rémy de Provence :30mn and Marseille :1h00mn.
Our favorite for the volumes and brightness of the loft. This out-of-the ordinary place, in Camargue, offers many perspectives of evolution and trasformations.
A domain of eco-lodges set in the heart of the countryside in an unique naturel environment near Saint Remy de Provence.
Virginie and Yvan decided on a change in life-style and embarked on a project allowing them to live and work together daily. Decision taken, the couple decide on the creation of an eco-friendly hosting site perfectly integrated with the surrounding nature. Yvan, public works director, enlists the help of his friend Benoit Gillet, an architect. Benoit gets down to the drawing board, Yvan has fun with his mechanical digger to prepare the earthworks ant the landscaping and Virginie takes care of the decoration of the final project.
The domain of eco-lodges sets in the heart of the countryside in an unique naturel environment near Saint Remy de Provence.
Subtle combination of nature and design sit in the typical mediterranean vegetation. The buildings are timber-framed and wood-clad with sumptuous panoramic views of the valleys lying all around.
This tourist site was designed to reduce a maximum the global environment footprint. It consists of four 50m2 lodges, a 13m2 maritime container, a seminar room of 120m2 and a 200m2 house, all on a plot covering 10700m2. The estate benefits from a priviledged location, at the limit of the a building zone in the foothills of a South of France mountain range.
The Global Architectural Plan designed a series of single-story buildings, slotted into the slope thus minimising their visuel impact from the road in and on the surrounding countryside.
To the East is the parking area, parallel to this is the West facing seminar room, the terrace and the swimming pool. A housing unit with private terrace is in the North end of the building.
Following the desire to provide visual screens plus wind protection from the mistral, stone walls in the form of gabions, structure the footpaths and organise the different areas. To the South sited on a slight slope to reduce vis-a-vis and hence improve privacy are the 4 eco-lodges: 3 of wood-modular design and 1 a maritime container.
Each lodge, comfortably furnished , summer lounge and dining area, gives onto a wooden terrace The architectural choice was give to a feel ‘inside/outside’, the entire design fits into the surrounding nature .
The particularity of this project lies in an architectural approach which is both respectful the environment and uses state- of-the-art technology thereby establishing a dialogue between the simplicity of the materials chosen and thermal perfomance.
This tourist site was designed to reduce a maximum the global environment footprint. It consists of :
a seminar room of 120m2
200m2 house (that can be sold with the domain, with extra payment for a global price of 2 990 000€)
all on a plot covering 10700m
four 50m2 lodges,
a 13m2 maritime container
Live closer to nature and enjoy the enchanting landsape!
Armand Pellier was a famous sculptor and designer in the 70s. Robert Prohin, was his successor and the architect in charge of the project. The challenge was to design an extension, as an independant unit of life, perserving Armand PELLIER’s spirit.
This House offers 200m2 of living space. It is build in a L form, with 2 levels. The spacious living room en the DRC, is widely opened and bathed in light It is organized in different living spaces. It includes a lounge area, a fireplace in the DRC, a dining area, a kitchen .
Upstairs, there are 3 bedrooms and bathroom, including a parental suite with a fantastic view on the garden and the top of the trees…
Arles :15mns, Nîmes :20 mns, and Montpellier :55mns.
Our favorite for, graphic and timelesse lines, as Robert Prohin would say, « a dream of eternity” »

You have also a transformed 36m2 room with mezzanine, serving as an agricultural counter at the begining, then transformed into an architectural agency. This space could be transformed into independent housing.

Shops and market in the village. A station in the village, connects Nîmes in 20 minutes. You can get to Uzès, in 20 minutes. And why not go skiing in Prat Peyrot in winter (60mn), or go for a walk to the sea (45mn)?
Our favorite for sparkling lights both inside and out the building
